What’s Been Happenin’

I know, I know. It’s been a crazy and I’ve been lazy.

If I could please confess, I have had a stressful week at work and am still fighting the “newbie syndrome” that comes with any new job.

Let’s get to the fun stuff that was a nice and long Easter weekend!

We had off Friday, which was glorious because it meant that I could go to the gym before we left.  I was so proud of myself.  I did the arc trainer for 40 minutes and then some weights.  Job well done!

BREAKFAST – We stopped at Whole Foods on our way out to see if they had any good green beans.  Apparently, green beans did not look good in Cincy!  And what’s right next to Whole Foods?  Bruegger’s Bagels!  I devoured this bagel and sipped on some hazelnut coffee.

It definitely hit the spot for the car ride and kept me full for the duration.

LUNCH – If you’ve never been to Cincinnati, you probably have never heard of Skyline Chili.  I’m here to tell you that this chili is the best chili ever.  It’s not what you would expect from chili (you have to ask for beans separately) but it tastes like home and makes great dip for parties!

I ordered a cheese coney, which is a hot dog, covered with chili and cheese on top and mustard.  You can add onions, but I think they just get in the way.  It may look disgusting, but it tasted fantastic!!  And, Nick Lachey loves them.  #bonus #Newlyweds

I spent the majority of the weekend watching old, recorded Real Housewives episodes and that’s exactly what I want to be doing when I’m home with my family.  We did watch basketball and managed to squeeze in a 4 mile run!  I might add that my first mile in the run was completed in 9:30…which was crazy.  What can I say, I love Zac Brown Band!  We drank mimosas and red wine and devoured homemade spaghetti sauce and meatballs on Easter Sunday.  Truly wonderful.

We arrived home last night and I dug into my Easter basket candy.  Yes, I still get an Easter basket but this was the first year we didn’t have a scavenger hunt to find them!!  I ate some jelly beans while reading the latest Us Weekly.  Side Note:  Tiger Woods, I don’t think you’re a sex addict, I think you’re an as$h@le.

Hi All!  Oh boy, what a whirlwind week.  I took off tomorrow to go to Chicago for a girl’s weekend (yay!) so 4-day work weeks always go so quickly!

I met my goal this week of setting up 2 meetings (ka-ching) and I’m so excited to have a nice long weekend and be a lady who lunches tomorrow.  With a cocktail!

Here’s what happened on Tuesday:

EXERCISE – I WOKE UP EARLY!  I got up, ate 1/2 a Kashi bar, got on the treadmill.  It was glorious!  I was so proud of myself.

BREAKFAST  – I had one of my breakfast sandwiches and a clementine!



I had a lunch meeting and was proud of myself for getting salad only.  But then I had a brownie.  Oops.  Hey, I worked out in the morning.  I didn’t take a picture (well, I thought I did and can’t find it on my phone!) for fear of looking like a crazy in front of all my business colleagues.

The positive of working out in the morning, I could come straight home (after a Starbucks!) and actually make dinner.

SNACK – While watching the finale of The Biggest Loser, I snacked on some celery and peanut butter.  What did you think of the finale?  SPOILER – I love that Danni won.  She looks fantastic!

DINNER – TURKO SALAD.  Again, tacos in this house are made with turkey, so the man will not call them tacos.  I had romaine lettuce, tomato, light sour cream, turkey and cheddar cheese.  Oh so good!

I have to say that one week per month (ladies) there are no rules.  If I want chocolate, I want chocolate.  These sliced loaf double chocolate cakes were amazing!  I had 2 one night, 2 the next night, and then 2 today.  YUMMMY!

Wednesday was crazy and I won’t give too many details, so I’ll just give you some pictures!  Also, yesterday, I came home from a work event and didn’t want to go to the gym.  But the words: You’ll Never Regret a Work out were ringing in my head…or actually the man was literally saying them to me!  So, I went to the gym and did 30 minutes on the arc trainer! Yayy me!

Lunch wasn’t too filling and I had a work event with tons of fried food and drinks.  I was proud of myself for only drinking water and ate some veggies, but couldn’t pass up these fried mac and cheese balls!

Saturday Wrap-Up

Whoa!  Saturday FLEW by!  I really just wanted to sit and watch tv, but that didn’t happen.  I woke up around 9:30, ate breakfast and then decided to go to the gym!

BREAKFAST – Time for a carb load before an intense work out!  I toasted a blueberry bagel and topped with strawberry cream cheese.  On the side, hazelnut coffee!

EXERCISE – I worked my butt off at the gym today!  I did 45-minutes on the arc trainer on interval level 3, which was intense!  I was sweating like crazy!

And, I listened to Pandora 90’s pop music, which was the inspiration of the name of the total body circuit I did.

I was also inspired by Julie over at Peanut Butter Fingers.  She has all these amazing circuit work outs that will keep you moving and your heart pumping.  Go on over and take a look!


I had to take a few breaks completing this work out, but I have to admit, I’m so glad I did it!  I wrote the work out down in a notebook, so I had a guide.  It’s definitely something I will try to continue.  The 90’s Pandora station kept me grooving.  Here are some gems that popped up – nothing like some old school Britney and N’Sync!

I stretched it out and came home.  I hopped in the shower and then it was time to run some errands!

We ran to Barnes & Noble to pick up a little gift for my hostess when I go to Chicago this weekend (so excited)!  We picked up a Starbucks hazelnut maachiato while we were.  So worth it!  Our agenda was to look at tuxes for the wedding….well, that was horrible.  We went to Men’s Warehouse and Jos. A Bank.  Jos. A Bank only had books to look at and Men’s Warehouse didn’t have the right size.  But, we’re one step closer.  At least we know the look we’re going for! 🙂

LUNCH – As his reward to doing some wedding, we decided to stop by Chipotle.  I can usually be persuaded to grab some chips and guac but I was starving!  I ordered 3 crispy chicken tacos with lettuce, sour cream and cheese.  Very child-like but a classic.  We split chips and guac as well.  What is it about the guac?!

We got a call from some friends who wanted to meet up for a drink, so we went and I had 1 sangria.  It was great to hang out and laugh with a great group of people!  We only wanted to stay for a little while, but it was 9:15 when we looked at our watches for the first time.  We came home and passed out!  What a Saturday.  With the late lunch, we didn’t eat dinner so I’m okay with how the day went!
